PSCSTA is helping to support the annual CS4Teachers event August 2-6 2021, 9am - 12pm, hosted by the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. The event will be held virtually and no Computer Science experience is required!

Each summer, the University of Washington Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering hosts the CS4teachers conference. (PSCSTA is helping to support this even this as our week long PD week). CS4teachers is an opportunity for Washington state K-12 teachers, from all different disciplines, to learn why and how to implement Computer Science activities as a part of all curricula. No Computer Science experience required!

The CS4teachers conference aims to:

  • Introduce a wide range of topics related to CS and CS education, including: mobile app development, data science, teaching best practices, and cross-curricular CS integration.

  • Explore the intersection of computer science and the impact it has on Washington’s communities and people - with a focus on issues related to equity, diversity, and justice.

  • Enable teachers to incorporate CS topics into their classroom.

  • Broaden the community of Washington teachers who are interested in CS education

  • Support Washington state school districts with the expansion of computer science education - especially with the passage of SB5088.

Our conference this year is on August 2 - 6, 2021, from 9AM - 12PM PT, with optional office hours in the afternoon (learn more about our schedule here). The program will be completely virtual and teachers can opt-in to receive 15 STEM clock hours provided through WSTA (paid for by the CS4teacher conference).

We are really excited about the program we are working on and believe that this information is valuable to a wide variety of disciplines! We hope you consider joining us.
