Course to prepare teachers to take the WEST/NES Computer Science endorsement exam for Washington State.
This online, self-paced course is for teachers interested in preparing for the WEST/NES Computer Science endorsement exam for Washington State.
 
A $600 ticket for this online, self-paced course will get you 1) a yearly CSTA+ membership ($50); 2) perpetual access to a version of the WeTeach_CS Foundations of Computer Science for Teachers ($600) course customized for Washington state; 3) Office hours (optional) twice a week and online support provided by PSCSTA and Shoreline CC; 4) 35 Washington state clock hours upon course completion.  At least 25-40 hours of experience coding with a text-based programming language is recommended before starting the course.   The course will be most beneficial for high school teachers with concrete plans to teach a computer science course in the 2023-24 school year,
 
Teachers taking this online course may start on June 5.   Regardless of when they start, students can set their own pace, will have perpetual access to course content, and will have six months to complete the course for Washington state clock hours.
 
Ticket is fully refundable until ticket holder "accepts" placement in course by signing up for a free CSTA/PSCSTA membership.   $500 is refundable until teacher starts the Foundations of CS for Teachers course. $300 is refundable if teacher withdraws within one week of starting the Foundations of CS for Teachers course.
